2021 Was For The First Time When? Major World Events in 2021

After a disastrous 2020, which many claim as the worst year ever in history, all eyes and expectations were now upon the year 2021.

There was almost a sense of desperation asking 2021 to be a much better year than its predecessor. And better it was in several aspects. No, we didn't get rid of Covid, but the world managed to get back into some sort of normality. 2021 was a dope year for science explorations and technology enhancements.

2021 also saw some major political changes across regions, while some turned out to be fruitful, others brought about large scale humanitarian crisis. This was also the year, when the majority of the countries missed out on their emission targets again.

The results of which were evident from record droughts, extreme rainfall, uncalled hurricanes and whatnot. So, here are my selection's of the major world events in 2021, events that happened for the first time ever. Events that in some way or the other changed or impacted the perceptions of our society and norms.

Covid-19 vaccines arrive as our saviour

After the dreadful pandemic year, 2021 brought about a new dawn for hopes, as a variety of covid-19 vaccines arrived in the market.

The covid-19 vaccine was the latest addition to the major advancements of medical science in life saving drugs. Never had been a vaccine made so early in the history of humankind. Vaccine technologies take atleast a decade to be developed, tried and tested. The quickest a vaccine had been made previously was four years, which helped preventing Mumps.

But in what was a monumental approach from our scientists and vaccine manufacturers, the Covid-19 vaccine was ready for use within 12 months of the pandemic. To the question of its effectiveness on the virus and its mutations, Pfizer and Moderna, the leading covid-19 vaccines showed 90% efficacy rates upon testing.

But despite of procuring vaccines at a record breaking time, we are still not over with this pandemic. Vaccine discrimination, vaccine hoarding and a range of absurd health policies, especially from wealthy nations has dented the global response against the pandemic.

The virus is getting ample time and favorable conditions to mutate itself into newer and much stronger variants. Omicron, the latest covid-19 variant was first recognized in South-Africa last month. Within a week of its discovery, the variant spread into 50 more countries showcasing its high transmissibility.

Electric Vehicle sales surpass diesel car sales in Europe

September, 2021 became a major landmark in the European auto industry, when EV sales surpassed the traditional diesel car sales in the continent for the very first time. Europe's decade long dream of a transition to zero-emission, clean energy vehicles isn't now a distant dream.

Thanks to company's like Tesla, BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) are becoming mainstream, while still being affordable in the continent. This monumental of an achievement shows how Europe has quite firmly embraced this technology, leaving other continents far behind.

Industry experts believe that while the September data might be a blip in the chart, underlying trends are showing steady decline in diesel car demands, while the need for zero-emission cars keep a healthy trend upwards.

All in all, experts believe that it is only a matter of time before the September sales actually become the norm in Europe. The unusual and acute shortage of semiconductor chips around the world has forced leading diesel run automakers like Ford, General Motors to cut a bulk of their productions.

A JPG file which fetched millons of Dollars

Have you heard about NFTs (Non Fungible Token) or Bitcoin or in general Crypto-currencies?

I bet you have, given the noise happening around this field these days. People all around the world are investing insane amounts of money into what is a new technology around the block. The internet is full of stories of people becoming millionaires from investing into crypto, while others losing their life-savings due to scams and market crashes.

One such incident happened in early 2021, when a digital JPG file was auctioned and sold for $69 million. Can you just believe what you heard! To elaborate, this was no ordinary JPG file, rather an NFT (a fully digital artwork). The art piece named “Everydays – The First 5000 Days”, was a digital artwork by Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple.

Christie's, the renowned auction house held the sale, in what was its first-ever auction of a digital piece of art. The sold NFT is a collage of 5000 individual images, shot by the artist one-per-day for over thirteen years. NFTs as a market exploded heavily this year, with famous individuals and corporations taking their own shot at this bold and exciting venture.

NFTs brought about a revolution in the field of “Digital Ownership”, where who owns an NFT is authenticated and stored, securely through Blockchain technology. Artists like Beeple, believe that the rise of NFTs is great for individual artists across the globe.

Who can now have access to audiences worldwide.

The World Trade Organization has its First Female African Leader

In an historic of an event, Nigeria's Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala became the first African Female to lead the prestigious WTO (World Trade Organization), back in March 2021.

Okonjo was also the First Female Finance Minister in her native country Nigeria. She served in the government for two consecutive terms. Her work credentials consisted of a 25-year long career as a development economist at the World Bank. An impressive resume backed by an ethical career of integrity, soon made her the ideal candidate among the member states.

The World got its Fifth Ocean

On June 8, 2021 “World Ocean Day”, the National Geographic team decided to announce the World's Fifth Ocean around Antarctica. Named the “Southern Ocean”, this body of water has been for long baffling oceanographers worldwide.

This was a huge addition to our traditional knowledge about Oceans and their behaviour. Although several countries and organizations recognize the Southern Ocean, not everyone is on the same page on where its actually located. The Southern Ocean is a variation of circumstances from those of Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.

The Southern Ocean is generally cold waters, given its closeness to Antarctica. Salinity in these waters is much less as compared to the others.

The presence of distinguishable and exclusive fauna like minke whales, certain kinds of seals, penguins, fish and bird life is what makes this part different from others. The National Geographic team which categorized the name for this new ocean, is one of the world's pre-eminent and most visible map-making groups.

For the first time a Human Brain wirelessly connects to a computer

2021 became the year, when a major breakthrough was achieved in the field of neural interface technology.

In the month of June, a clinical trial of the BrainGate technology allowed paralyzed people to control a computer using their thoughts. The system involves a small transmitter that links to a person's brain motor cortex. This advanced technology can transmit brain signals in full broadband consistency, at a single neuron resolution. Two volunteers, paralyzed from spinal cord injuries, became the subjects of the process.

Using BrainGate technology, both these individuals were able to control a tablet, seamlessly with click accuracies and typing speeds equivalent to those at the wired system.

This technology is huge in terms, that it extinguishes the need for people to be physically tethered to equipments.

Researchers have found the technology relatively easier to use, which would allow individuals to have an hassle free experience, right in their homes. The Neural Interface technology is a swiftly pacing field these days, with rising interests from companies like Facebook.

This wireless interface breakthrough might open the gateway to future advancements in this exciting field.

First Private Space travel became a reality

The dream for successful commercial private flights to space inched closer, when on July 2021, the British Billionaire and founder of the Virgin Group, Richard Branson took his first space flight above the Earth's atmosphere into space.

Branson created history as he became the first non-astronaut to venture into space. Branson accompanied by two pilots and three mission specialists boarded the Virgin Galactic rocket plane in what was the company's first full component of space travelers.

What Branson also did was beat its fierce competitor Blue Origin (Jeff Bezos's company), which was also looking to do the same, first. Branson's Virgin Galactic is also holding ambitions to build future floating space hotels, and other space infrastructures.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();

The success of Branson's space flight is an indication of how privatized commercial spaceflights could become a norm in the recent future.Elon Musk's “SpaceX”, and Jeff Bezos's “Virgin Galactic” are also running their own set of private spaceflight programs, and would soon be deploying their own commercial flights.

Bitcoin became a Country's official currency

In an historic turn of events, a tiny nation in Central America named “El Salvador”, announced it would be making Bitcoin as a legal tender, in September 2021.

This was huge considering, the speculations around the use of Crypto-currencies throughout the world. China, the second largest economy in the world, has already banned the usage of all cryptocurrencies (including Bitcoin) inside its borders. Economists around the world, stated El Salvador's move as risky and could prove disastrous for an already fragile economy of El Salvador.

Nevertheless, it didn't stop the crypto community to stand with El Salvador's decision of authorizing Bitcoin as a form of money in its country. The crypto community worldwide showered its support to the governments decision by buying $30 worth of Bitcoin each, to raise up the prices.

President Nayib Bukele, has defended the move, by stating that Bitcoin's inclusion would help the country's economy to large extents. He in a heartfelt message asked crypto investors and communities worldwide, to invest in the country's progress to become the best Bitcoin country.

There are reports that an entire Bitcoin city would be built in El Salvador, which would help bring a new era of digital education, sustainable energy reserves, and green mining. The future of Bitcoin as a currency may well lie upon the success and failure of El Salvador's financial model.

A successful stint might encourage others to take the leap, but a failed model might trigger catastrophe. Nevertheless, these are exciting times in the modern financial world.

Light observed from behind a Black Hole

As absurd as it may sound, Astronomers and Researchers while studying flaring X-Rays from a supermassive black hole at the Centre of a spiral galaxy named “Zwicky 1”, found a pretty unexpected and bizarre phenomenon. The black hole about 800 million light years away, when observed was emitting luminous echoes of x-rays from behind.

This baffled astronomers and researchers, as the light bursts were smaller and arrived later to those coming from the center of the suction. Soon the scientists understood that what they were witnessing was a subject of Einstein's hundred year old “Theory-of-General-Relativity”.

According to Einstein's General-Theory-of-Relativity, massive objects in Space can warp the fabric of space itself, known as “Space-Time”.

Until then gravity was thought to be an invisible force, which could only be experienced. Einstein with his theory showed how gravity isn't just an invisible force, rather it is simply our experience of space-time curving and distorting due to the presence of all matter and energy around.

Light, which although travels in a straight line, will also curve or distort from its direction in regions with highly curved space-time. We all know how intensely massive and gravitative black holes are. In this case, the black hole was a supermassive one. Which bended the light source near it, making it appear to observers that light came from behind the black-hole.

Einstein's theory was proved right again!

The highest point in Greenland received rainfall

In an alarming of an event, Greenland's highest peak points received 7 billion tonnes of rain in August of 2021. This was the first time ever, this region had recorded rainfall, since observations began in the 1980s.

Scientists and Environmental experts have speculated the reason to the global rise in temperatures. The situation is concerning, given that the ice sheets in Greenland are the second largest in the world after Antarctica. Unprecedented rainfall on these ice sheets would accelerate the surface melting.

Which are perfectly capable of raising sea levels by more than 7 meters. Data suggests that melting in Greenland pts terbaik sumatera has contributed to about 60% of the Earth's overall sea level rise till date. Acceleration here would mean catastrophic weather conditions which would include, Tsunami's, Cyclone's, record breaking floods and whatnot.

Temperatures in the Arctic are rising at twice the speed, than that in the rest of the planet. With limited time, there needs to be an urgency towards limiting global warming to 1.5 degree celcius, this century. But several researchs have shown that we might reach the 1.5 degree support level by the mid 2030s.The window is rapidly closing, humanity needs to act fast.

The First ever human killing A.I robot may have already been used..

Autonomous weapons systems like A.I robots capable of killing humans, sounds a bit sci-fi'ish, doesn't it? But according to an United-Nations-Security-Council report, A.I robots might have already killed human-beings during the Libyan Civil war.

The report also suggests that although it is unclear who deployed these killer robots. The remnant found of one such machine was confirmed to be from the Kargu-2 drone, which is made by Turkish-military-contractor-STM. Autonomous Weapon systems as a concept are not at all new to this world, with global superpowers like U.S, China and Russia investing billions of dollars into it.

The inclusion of autonomous weapon into any army's arsenal would prove to be devastating for the entire human civilization. Humanitarian organizations are rigorously working towards putting regulations over such weaponery systems. Will these organizations succeed?only time will tell.

Other Noteworthy Major World Events in 2021

The Taliban formed its government again*

After being ousted from power in Afghanistan backed by U.S led invasion, Taliban returned into power in 2021. U.S's chaotic withdrawal from the region was marked by the rapid ascension of the Islamists into power. This single incident was one of the major world events in 2021 (politically).

Metaverse

The social media giant Facebook, went through a major rebranding this year, after it named its company “Meta”. Mark Zuckerberg has clearly stated the company's objective towards building Metaverse.

Metaverse in simple terms, would be a digital platform, where Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality intersect, to create a real life environment. This would be the next step for socializing with people, without being physically present at the scenario.

Companies like Microsoft, are also working towards building this new environment.

NASA probe manages to touch the Sun, for the first time

In June of 2021, NASA's Parker Solar probe managed to get into the Sun's outermost region “Corona”, for full five hours. The Parker solar probe became the first ever man made thing to get into the Sun's atmosphere. The probe was sent as a mission to understand our Star's outer atmosphere, while also studying about Solar Winds.

Nation's around the world failed their Climate agreements again*

Apart from the pandemic, 2021 was all about extreme weather conditions across regions in the globe.

Record Droughts in America, extreme floods in Belgium and West-Germany. Wildfires in Greece and late season monsoons in India and Nepal. In almost all of these cases, global warming of the Earth was the primary agent. Countries pledged to address climate change at the COP-26 meeting at Glasgow.

But yet data suggests that carbon emissions jumped to record heights in 2021.

POGUEMAHONE by Patrick McCabe (Unbound £20, 624 pp)

POGUEMAHONE by Patrick McCabe (Unbound £20, 624 pp)

POGUEMAHONE

(Unbound £20, 624 pp)

No one who read McCabe’s 1992 novel The Butcher Boy could forget its chilling depiction of a troubled schoolboy in 1960s Ireland.

His latest, a dizzying verse novel 600 pages long, is equally likely to haunt the mind. It has so many layers that we’re never sure where we are, but very roughly speaking, it centres on Una, an Irish woman recalling life in a squat during the 1970s. The story of how she fell for a poet — and then caught him in flagrante — is intercut with the painful tale of her mother, Dots, a call girl in 1950s Soho.

All this and more unfolds in aspectral tornado of voices, which calls into question the status of the narrator, Dan, supposedly Una’s brother but possibly also her son, and who may never even have been born.

A difficult reading experience, to be sure, but a rich one, too, with a skinpricking ambience that’s both gritty and ethereal.

COMPANION PIECE by Ali Smith (Hamish Hamilton £16.99, 240 pp)

COMPANION PIECE by Ali Smith (Hamish Hamilton £16.99, 240 pp)

COMPANION PIECE

(Hamish Hamilton £16.99, 240 pp)

Smith’s new book follows her recent seasonal quartet of novels penned in rapid response to contemporary events, from the Brexit vote (the backdrop to 2017’s Autumn) to the first lockdown (the setting for Summer, published two years ago).

It’s told by a painter, Sandy, whose father is in hospital when she is called out of the blue by an old classmate, Martina, a museum worker complaining about her heavy-handed treatment by customs officials.

Another thread set in medieval times follows a destitute girl who finds herself persecuted after joining a travelling band Terbaik Sumatera of players.

The story unfolds in the chatty, pun-filled style that Smith has made her own, but it’s notably sleeker than her recent output, and better for it.

As ever, the book’s pleasure lies in Smith’s gift for giddying associative leaps, and the ease with which she deploys her lightly worn erudition in order to hymn the virtues of openhearted creativity.

GLORY by NoViolet Bulawayo (Chatto £18.99, 416 pp)

GLORY by NoViolet Bulawayo (Chatto £18.99, 416 pp)

 GLORY

(Chatto £18.99, 416 pp)

Zimbabwean writer Bulawayo made the Booker shortlist in 2013 with her debut We Need New Names, a coming-of-age story about a girl migrating to the United States.

Her more ambitious new novel is a sprawling social panorama set in the fictional African state of Jidada, witnessed through the fall of one dictator and the rise of another.

The twist is that its characters are all animals — a nod to George Orwell’s Animal Farm that generates early intrigue, but soon comes to seem like a gimmick lending unity to a series of shapeless vignettes.

Yes, Bulawayo captures the psychology of life in a ‘failed state’, to say nothing of the patronising attitudes encoded in that Western phrase; the president of the United States, none too subtly, is a Twitteraddicted baboon.

As that suggests, though, Bulawayo’s animals are nothing more than humans in fancy dress, which adds to the oddly affectless feel of a novel that wastes its conceit.

How to Get Yourself Noticed While Working Remotely

For many people, working from home has proven to be a blessing in disguise.

Despite the fact that many companies have resumed partial work from the office since the epidemic, remote working still dominates the worldwide working structure. Resuming offices is also problematic now that a new version of the Covid-19 pandemic, Omicron, is impacting people.

Working from home offers its own set of advantages and disadvantages. While working from home can be convenient, there are certain disadvantages to being physically separated from your coworkers and superiors. As a result, you face a problem in making yourself and your work apparent to your superiors. However, in order to achieve the best results, businesses must understand how to keep employees motivated when working remotely.

These methods for making yourself heard and your work visible in a remote office will be of great use to you.

Ways to Make It Easier for You to Be Heard and Seen

Boost internal communication

One key network that exists while working remotely is the internal communication network, which allows employees to communicate with one another.

Choose this option and feel free to discuss your work progress with your coworkers or employer. Inform them of your findings and timely tell them of your contribution in a professional manner. Sharing things at work enhances the bonds between coworkers and is also beneficial to your mental health.

If none of these options are available, you may be faced with the following:

  • It's possible that you'll continue to be perplexed by your work.
  • Lack of self-assurance.
  • Imposter syndrome could be a problem for you.
  • It will have an impact on your output.

Volunteer

When you work in an office, your physical presence alerts others to your presence.

As a result, you will be noticed even if you do not volunteer. In a virtual setting, though, you must initiate and make your voice heard. For example, if your supervisor has discussed a project that needs to be completed soon, you should take the initiative and volunteer to take on that project rather than letting them choose someone else.

Also, because you are not physically present in the meetings, your reactions to the situations are not noted. As a result, make sure you speak up at least once during the meeting.

Keep a positive attitude

When you work remotely, you are working alone.

As a result, you may experience low or underconfidence in your work and performance as a result of remote working. Be positive and reach out to your coworkers in a nice manner to avoid this. By inspiring your coworkers positively, you can help them feel better. One method to relieve your coworkers' stress is to offer assistance.

This also provides the impression that you can be counted on whenever they require assistance. It improves your relationship with your coworkers.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();

Dress in a formal manner

When you go to work, you are dressed correctly in formals.

But who cares how I look when you're at home? Sure, it's incredibly tempting to spend the entire day in your pyjamas. It makes you feel too at ease, and you find yourself wearing your pyjamas more than before. This “who cares” attitude will gradually turn you into a slacker.

As a result, I urge that you dress up as if it were a regular weekday. Create a great office space in your apartment and work from home.

Activities Outside of the Classroom Are Important

Extracurricular activities are frequently used to keep the working environment upbeat and happy.

These activities are always something you look forward to. You should not only attend, but also take part in them. Even if these events are held online while working remotely, being a part of them keeps you engaged. You can also become a member of the organising team and take the initiative to attempt something new.

True, you'll have to labour a little outside the box, kampus terbaik di lampung but it'll keep you in the good graces of your bosses.

Share Your Successes

Who doesn't like to brag? Why should I tell everyone else about my work when it is visible? Are you asking yourself these kinds of questions?

Let me clarify: bragging about your accomplishments is not the same as bragging about yourself. You are correct; your superiors are aware of your efforts, even if they do not appreciate them. You must share your accomplishments with your supervisors in order to make them think and speak well about you.

It's important because your employers might not give you the credit you deserve in front of upper management. So, speak up for it.

Always be on time for calls

You have excuses for not taking calls after work hours when you are away from work while going to the office. When you work from home, though, you do not have this freedom. You must be available for calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Your availability draws attention to yourself in front of your boss.

Conclusion

For many, remote working may not be as simple as it appears.

It is burdened by dual obligations and concerns of trust. Because you can't maintain track of all of your staff at once, keeping things transparent becomes challenging. These minor concerns, however, can be handled if well organised and transparency is maintained.

It also aids in informing your superiors of your hard effort. Getting seen helps you stay out of trouble.

AirPods Max: 14 tips to master Apple’s latest wireless over-ear headphones

id=”article-body” class=”row” section=”article-body”>

airpods-max-8

Apple’s AirPods Max are expensive, but oh so fancy.

David Carnoy/CNET

Apple surprised all of us and , the company’s first over-ear headphones, as one last announcement mid-December. The , but they’re also downright impressive.  says they sound “like high-end headphones, with tight bass, natural mids, crisp highs and a wide soundstage for a closed-back headphone.”

From 20-hour battery life, active noise cancellation, a dedicated transparency mode and a super-fancy surround-sound mode called , there’s a lot to learn about Apple’s newest headphones.

But that’s what we’re here for. Below we’ll walk you through 14 different features, tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your shiny headphones.

Bluetooth pairing with AirPods Max is really quick

Seriously, pairing the AirPods Max is an extremely simple process. You’ll need your iPhone or iPad and the headphones. Take the headphones out of the smart case and unlock your device.

A second or two later, you’ll see an alert on your phone asking if you want to connect to the AirPods Max. Tap Connect and you’re technically done. However, Apple has added a brief tutorial that walks you through some of the basic controls as well as asks if you want to enable Spatial Audio after playing a brief demo (more on that in a minute).

Once your AirPods Max are paired, the headphones will automatically work with the rest of your Apple devices that use your Apple ID. You won’t have to repeat this process for each device.

If you’re setting up your headphones with a Mac and not an iPhone or iPad, you’ll need to follow the steps in our next tip.

airpods-max-buttonsairpods-max-buttons

The AirPods Max only has two buttons, neither of which is a power button, and no touch controls.

David Carnoy/CNET

Connect AirPods Max to a Mac or non-Apple device

At their core, the AirPods Max are still Bluetooth headphones. That means you can connect them to other Bluetooth devices, like the new Chromecast, an Android phone or Windows PC.

However, pairing to a non-Apple device or a Mac requires some extra steps. Namely, you’ll need to put the headphones in pairing mode by holding in the noise control button until the indicator light starts blinking white. The button is located on the top of the right ear cup, while the indicator light is on the bottom of the same side.

With the headphones in pairing mode, open the Bluetooth settings on the device you want to pair them with, select AirPods Max from nearby devices and follow the prompts.

Learn the controls

The AirPods Max lack any touch controls, and instead rely on a digital crown, just like what you’ll find on an Apple Watch, and a stand-alone noise control button. Both buttons are on top of the right ear cup, and serve multiple purposes.

Let’s start with the digital crown, which offers plenty of controls and features.

  • Control the volume level by turning the crown in either direction.
  • Single-press to play or pause.
  • Double-press the crown to skip forward.
  • Triple-press to go back.
  • Press and hold to trigger Siri.

The digital crown is also how you answer or end a phone call.

  • Single-press to answer or end a call.
  • Double-press to reject a call.
  • During a call, single press to answer a second incoming call and put the first call on hold.
  • With two calls active, double-press to hang up the current call and switch to the other call.
  • Press and hold to reject a second incoming call.
  • Double-press to stop listening through your headphones and send the call to your phone.

Use your iPhone, iPad or Mac to control AirPods Max

If you find it easier to switch between active noise cancellation and transparency mode or turn spatial audio on and off using an iPhone, iPad or Mac, you can do that, too.

With your AirPods Max connected to an iPhone or iPad, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to access the Control Center. Long-press on the volume slider and then adjust your settings as desired.

On a Mac, click on the AirPods Max icon in the menu bar and then select the mode you want to use. Right now, spatial audio on the Mac isn’t possible.

How to turn AirPods Max on or off

The short answer? You can’t. The AirPods Max are either on your head and actively in use, or in some form of low-power state to prolong the battery.

When not in use, place the headphones in the smart case to instantly put them, effectively, to sleep. If you forget to put them in the case and simply place them on a desk or table, they’ll eventually enter that same state, but it will take longer to get there.

Auto-play and auto-pause are still a thing

If you take the headphones off, or just lift an ear cup off your head, anything you’re listening to will automatically pause. When you put the headphones back on, they should reconnect and begin auto-playing whatever was last playing.

airpods-max-settings-page-iphoneairpods-max-settings-page-iphone

There are plenty of settings you can change, you just have to know where to look.

Siri is always available

If you have “Hey, Siri” enabled on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, your AirPods Max will follow suit. Whenever you’re wearing the headphones and need to do something like change albums, send a message or place a call, use the wake phrase of “Hey, Siri” followed by your command or question.

Here’s where you can adjust AirPods Max settings

There is a settings page for your AirPods Max, but unlike the Apple Watch, which has its own dedicated app, it’s buried in your iPhone’s Bluetooth settings page. Specifically, you need to go to Settings > Bluetooth > Tap on the “i” next to your AirPods Max.

On this page you’ll find options to change the name of your AirPods, adjust the direction you turn the digital crown to adjust volume, disable automatic switching, kampus terbaik di lampung among other settings.

I highly recommend going through this page and familiarizing yourself of what you can and can’t control.

Test out spatial audio

During the initial pairing process, you were given the chance to listen to a demo and decide if you want to turn it on. The demo is brief, and does an alright job of showing off what the feature can do; which is to create a surround sound-like environment inside your headphones, that adjusts in real-time as you move your head.

But in order to really get a good idea of what spatial audio does, I suggest watching any content that supports Dolby Atmos 5.1 or 7.1 audio. Apple TV Plus subscribers can use the Tom Hanks movie Greyhound or if you have Disney Plus, any of The Mandalorian episodes are fantastic examples.

While watching a show on your iPhone or iPad, turn your head to hear the sound move around you. It’s a crazy experience, no doubt.

That cable right there? It’ll cost you.

David Carnoy/CNET

How to view battery level

Whenever the AirPods Max are in use, you can view the current battery level by looking in the top-right corner of your iPhone or iPad’s screen. If you’re using them with a Mac, you can click on the AirPods Max icon in the menu bar to view your battery level.

Another option to check on battery status is to use the battery widget on your iPhone or iPad, or simply place your AirPods Max next to your iPhone or iPad and wait for a the battery life alert to show up.

Need a wired connection?

You can use the AirPods Max as wired headphones, but you’ll need to buy a separate cable. It’s a $35 Lightning-to-3.5mm cable you can

The ear cups come off for cleaning

Each ear cup is magnetically attached to the headphones, allowing you to remove and clean it. Or if one gets damaged beyond repair, you can

Having issues? Try a soft reset

If you’re having issues with the AirPods Max, you can soft reset them — which is akin to restarting your computer — by holding in the noise control button and the digital crown until the status light turns amber.

How to factory reset AirPods Max

If you’re returning the AirPods Max, selling them, or need to factory reset them for another reason, you can do that by holding in the noise control button and the digital crown until the indicator light turns amber and then white.

After mastering your AirPods Max, make sure to feature that allows you to share whatever you’re listening to with a friend without sharing earbuds. If you’re annoyed by the new automatic switching feature in iOS 14, you can . If you’re looking for tips and tricks for iOS 14, .

When Hacia Atherton was told she ‘would never walk again’ she felt her soul leave her body and says those four words were somehow more painful than her injuries.

The 34-year-old from was 29 when she was training for the equestrian championships and her 600kg, horse reared up, threw her off, then fell on her.

‘I remember falling to the ground and her falling on top of me, I pushed her off and crawled as fast as I could away from her so I wouldn’t be trampled when she found her feet,’ she told FEMAIL.

‘I couldn’t feel my legs and remember thinking ‘this is it, this is over’,’ she said.

‘Everything broke in that moment, pts terbaik sumatera not just my body, but the way I saw the world.’

Hacia was rushed into a nine-hour surgery where doctors worked to stabilise her, and found that she had a badly crushed pelvis, nerve damage and an injury to her spine an the muscles supporting it.

When she woke up she was told she would probably never walk again in a ‘meaningful’ way.

As an athlete in the equestrian world and somebody who saw her entire identity as being centred around getting physical she was floored.

‘It was kind of like my soul was taken out of my body and I was just a bag bones skin muscle lying there with no purpose to do anything. I was alive but what made me live was gone.’

But now she has found a new identity – helping women access jobs in male-dominated trades so they can provide for themselves and their families.

She thought her partner would leave her after the accident but they have since married

The young woman first ‘fell in love with trades’ before the accident when she worked in her family’s factory ‘as a welder’.

Despite loving the job the young woman was pre-occupied with her horse riding and the corporate job she had secured after studying business at university.

But the accident changed everything for Hacia, from her goals which became centred around learning to walk again, to her core identity.

117 days after her horror fall the determined young woman stood up on her own for the very first time.

Five months later she was walking up to 900metres with a frame and in two years she could walk 5km on her own.

‘When I made those first successful steps I didn’t have that mindset of enjoyment. I was just pushing myself to ease everyone else’s pain,’ she said.

‘I felt like a machine, going through the motions to make everyone I loved happy.’

But somewhere on her journey back to mobility the young woman did find that joy.

‘After that fits 5km I was in a different headspace. I was standing there with my partner and dogs just overflowing with gratitude and joy. I realised how much magic there is in the world,’ she said.

Before that life-changing moment she had been riddled with self doubt.

‘I would think ‘you used to be a high level athlete and now you can’t walk a kilometre without assistance and struggle with your bladder’.’

Hacia says she ‘wakes up to a wall of pain every day, it emanates through her pelvis, hip and right leg and also caused headaches.

But knowing she has other people to help, through her charity ‘Empowered Women in Trades’ helps her face the agony of starting a new day.

‘It has given me a reason to live,’ she said of the work.

Hacia’s goal is to help 750,000 women secure jobs in male-dominated trades by 2030, boosting female representation from 3% to 25%.

‘If I had my experience in the factory at 17 I would have done a welding apprenticeship instead of going to university. I love the job and I love the environment,’ she said.

‘At university I had two passions, researching about the skills shortage and about the financial hardship of women, but I didn’t put two and two together,’ she said.

Trades are still male-dominated and Hacia acknowledges the women will need to be trailblazers but is offering to give them the mental tools to push through.

‘I learned so much about positive psychology in hospital and now know that women in trades don’t feel like there is that psychological safety in the industry.

‘So we are giving them the training and the support so that’s no longer a barrier,’ she said.

The charity offers a one week program where women can ‘get their hands on the tools’, spend time on a construction site and try a few different jobs to get the right fit.

They are then supported to find an apprenticeship with a company that supports women in trades and to find the right Tafe course.

‘There are some great businesses out there who would love to hire women but there aren’t any applying for the jobs,’ she said.

Most of the trade jobs she helps women get pay between $80,000 and $90,000 as a base salary, before overtime.

‘It is heartbreaking when women tell me that there are no job opportunities for them, especially where they can earn a decent living wage.

‘It reminds me of when I was in hospital thinking I no longer had opportunities, that walking wasn’t on the table for me,’ she said.

‘I become furious when I see women noticing lucrative job offers on the other side of the construction fence and believing that they aren’t opportunities for them,’ she said.

Hacia says she had briefly thought of creating a charity before the accident but it ‘would have looked a lot different’.

‘I would have done it later in life and it would have been a school-based thing giving girls a chance to come to the family factory,’ she said.

The Atherton family manufacture medical and infection control equipment at their factory and are the manufactures in their field in Australia.

They have 40 people working on their factory floor, but of the tradies none are women.

‘We can’t get women in to fill the jobs but we would love our workforce to be 50/

Despite the England U18 international only signing his first professional contract in November, a two and a half year deal, that has failed to deter interested parties keen to snap up a youngster who has plenty of potential.

Project and Resource Management Tips

Anyone that has either managed or worked on a group project knows the difference between the simplicity of a task on paper and the “simplicity” of actually organizing the project are two entirely different worlds.

Not only do you have deadlines to meet, but you have to work with others with varying organizational and motivational skills. Trying to get all these things to work together can be like herding cats. The use of a project management tool will most certainly help, but you should also know a few things to assure success.

Know What You Need to Do

Tempat Wisata Pulau Bunaken ~ DASBOR PARIWISATA

As ironic as it may sound, one of the biggest problems that project managers run into is incorrectly assessing the goals of the project. If you are aiming too high, then you risk wasting resources.

If your thinking is too small, then you risk not achieving the stated goals. Neither of these are going to look good to your superiors. By spending the time to make sure you clearly understand the parameters of your project, you can then begin to look for terbaik sumatera the best project management software for the task.

Find the Right Software

The best project management software is not always the one with the most bells and whistles. Keep in mind the first tip – know what you need to do. By investing in an online project management tool that is too big for what you need, you take the risk of wasting precious time allocation. To use a metaphor, if you want to hit a homerun you will need a bat, not a log.

Conversely, if you invest in online project management tools that, while cheap, are not extensive enough, you will not be able to complete your project. Likely your budget will increase as well as you have to invest in software all over again.

Know How to Implement Your Software

This tip goes hand in hand with the previous one.

Now that you know what you need to do and have found the right software, you need to know how to implement it correctly. Countless hours are wasted every year by businesses that are using their software incorrectly. Imagine using the wrong side of a hammer to drive a nail.

Sure, the project may get done, but how much more difficult did not understanding the tool make it? Likewise, the implementation of a software project needs to be done correctly.

Consult with Those Who Know

Lastly, don't be afraid to dip into the budget to get help when needed.

Rather than waste precious time resources spinning your wheels, consider looking into a company who does software project management consulting. Many managers avoid the added expense without realizing that the time and resources saved, often end up to be greater than the cost.

At the end of the day, the goal is to complete the task with as much professionalism as possible while saving the company time and money. That alone makes it worth it in the end.
